Learning to look after our mental health and wellbeing takes patience and persistence. 

​Everyone is different; not all strategies work for everyone, but there are some general tips that you can follow to start looking after your mental health and wellbeing.

  • Connect with others

  • Be physically active

  • Learn new skills

  • Give to others

  • Pay attention to the present

Don't worry too much about saying the wrong thing; it's better to be having a conversation about mental health and wellbeing than shying away from it. Talking about mental health does not need to be any more difficult than talking about physical health. For example, if you had a headache or a sprained ankle, think about how you might explain that to someone.
